Caving
Outdoor Ed trip #3
My 3rd Outdoor Ed trip was with my year 10 class again. We had to drive a long way to Wee Jasper. When we got near the caves a pretty big tree was laying across the road, so we had to turn around and search another way to get there. After driving another hour or so, we realized that we did't know where we were exactly, so we stopped and waited for someone else to show us the way.
Because the way to our accommodation took a little (bit very much) longer, we just did one cave this day: Signature Cave. We had to abseile to get in and climb a ladder to get out. The first thing you see after getting down there is a grave of a girl who fell down there. Very encouraging, I know.
By the time we came out it was already pretty dark.
The 2nd day, we went to two other caves. To be honest I've forgotten how they were called. We did some more abseiling and climbing (but thank god no ladders anymore).
The 3rd day, we went in another cave before we returned to Wodonga. But well... the bus didn't want to start. So we had to push it almost every time before we wanted to go somewhere. The cave itself was even dirtier than the others because people in the past threw their rubbish down there.
But in general it was a really cool trip. There was a lot of mud, bat shit, which was sometimes a 'bit' gross and some things went a bit different than planed but I would definitely do it again .
